Local Karobar
Connecting Small Businesses and Freelancers with Neighborhood Customers

“Bridging the digital divide for neighborhood shops, freelancers, and daily service providers.”
Problem Identified
Local shops, street vendors, and freelancers like plumbers, maids, or local artists do not have a unified online platform to showcase their work. Without an easy way to establish a digital footprint, these small businesses struggle to reach nearby customers and find it difficult to compete in a digital economy.
Concept Ideated
The goal was to bridge the digital divide for everyday service providers and neighborhood shops. We wanted to build a hyper-local directory where shop owners can easily map their businesses, and customers can search for their daily needs based on categories and neighborhood localities.
Solution Built
We developed a full-stack React web platform called Local Karobar. Business owners can register, list their shops or freelance services, add multiple branches, and map their locations. Customers can explore and filter services like plumbing, retail shops, or local trades by category and proximity.
Key Contributions & Impact
Developed a multi-branch listing system allowing business owners to register and manage multiple service locations.
Integrated location-based mapping to plot local businesses and freelance services by neighborhood.
